I'm looking at buying a new LCD, I was speaking with someone that said the Sharp Lc679uVO is the same as the LC679u, except it is video optimized (VO)? I did an extensive search and I could find any information regarding this model number. Is anyone familiar with this? I want an LCD with a 240 refresh rate, like my old 88un LCD. I'm concerned..............and the rep said if I don't like it they have a hefty restocking fee =/.

I believe the electronics and other critical specs are the same as the standard LC-60E79u see the following link

The special suffix at the end of a model number usually indicates a unique minor change to the standard model (which could be only the user guide) made for a large electronics retailer so that no price comparison can be made to it by the customer at a different retailer.

Thank you. I heard back from SHARP, this was their response -

Quote:
Thank you for contacting Sharp Electronics Corporation's AQUOS support.

I appreciate your inquiry on your unit. The Model you are inquiring on is not a Sharp USA model. The LC60E69UVO is not a sharp USA model however the LC60E69U is a Sharp Model.

I decided not to buy it.
