Sharp LCD - AVS Box Vertical Storage?

661 Views 7 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Phil47
I've been given the go ahead from the significant other to get the 37" Sharp this weekend... woohoo.. can't wait..I've been debating myself for months now.. analysis paralysis.. you know. Hey it's a big purchase. And IMO, more fun than a car.

I think I have a perfect place for the AVS box but my question is...

Can you place the AVS box vertically in other words on its side? And how long is the AVS to Panel cord? Anybody do this?

Sorry got the acronym wrong... too many acronyms in the world.. The AVC box that is.
Nevermind.. I was just looking at the owner's manual and it comes with a vertical stand. Cool I think this will work.
Congrats on your decision. I just got mine 2 weeks back, still in 7th heaven. PM me if you need feedback about this panel.
A word of caution. My son's LC32 failed when he tried side mounting it after it worked perfectly horizontally. The repair shop could not fix it, and he had to get a warranty replacement. He was without his set for over 4 weeks.
I'm sorry, but I can't even visualize what you mean by side mounting. I'm aware of using a wall mount or the supplied stand.

I am talking about the AVC box that comes with some of the Aquos displays.. I think mejensen is talking about the same thing.
I have had my 37G4U AVC box sitting vertical (on provided stand) for several months now. No problems at all and makes for a clean install beside a triple dresser in the master bedroom.
