Is there a hidden menu on the Sharp lcd's (37 inch) much like other tv's? I know you can do a lot of regular tweaking with the general menu but wasnt sure if there was a magical service menu as well.

You'll probably need a service manual though (which I don't have). I went in to the service menu and a lot of the stuff is indecipherable. What I want to do is have the ability to change the picture SIZE, which I can't do through the consumer menu (can only change position).


My sharp has serious overscan, especially in the smart stretch mode. Anyone else notice this or can tell me how to adjust it?

I also have significant overscan on my new 26GA4U and would be interested if anyone knows how to adjust it.


My image is also biased to the right just enough that the user position control can't quite fix it.

Yikes, sorry about that! I was just trying to be helpful. I know I've gotten a lot of help here. Didn't know there was any policy about service codes.



Anyway, hope somebody can help us adjust the picture size on these units so I can correct what I feel is significant overscan.

Surely some of the folks with this Sharp model will know the solution to your problem. Keep after it and I'll bet some of them respond before long. Good luck.
