HTPC is considered to be the best source as it's progressive and can output to projector's native panel which is 800X600 for SVGA unit. Progressive DVD set-top box player will be good if you use a good unit (RP91, RP56, etc.) but projector will have to scale 480p which I'm not sure your projector will support which will introduce some scaling artifacts. PG-M10s is LT85 clone but I believe only the NEC will do 480p you better check with tech support. Screen wise, I'd go with high power as it'll give you more punch. DLP has good contrast already so high contrast (gray) screen may dim brightness (800 lumens may suffer) and is unnecessary.

@mondram

Go along with the sharp if you can use a HTPC!

@huey

the sharp pgm10X/S the NEC LT85/150 the Philips UGO and a Mitsubishi are all clone of the u3 Series from PLUS!

(the Necs have different chases and a different Video-Processing)
