Now it is my time to buy a new LCD TV to replace my CRT and i need your help because i am out of date for the long time .

I look at Sharp 46D64U , Sony 46W3000 , Sharp 46D92U and can't make a decision.....

What is the most important for LCD TV to day :

1) refresh 60hz or 120Hz ?

2) speed in Ms ?

3) 24 or 30 frames ?

4) what else i have to consider ... ????

Please give me some suggestion model in 46 inch size.

Thanks.

If you want 120Hz refresh rate, look at Samsung LN-T4671 (or 4669 for matte) or Sony 46XBR4. If you want 60Hz (cheaper), then look at Samsung LN-T4665 (or 4661 for matte) or Sony 46W3000. I would consider Sharp 46D64U a knot below those two models.

Go to a store and have a look at those models and see what you think.
1. Ten Bit w/ Ten Bit Processing at least

2. 24 fps ability

3. 1:1 capability

4. Response times vary - the newer Sharp which is not on your list is 4ms and with 120Hz and that feature depends on how well it performs it's function.

I'd await the new D94SE Sharp as a comparative panel arrives within the the month - the D92 is a yr old and the D64 is the budget level Sharp which can be a good bargain if you get one that's band free and you can get a free BD Player with it in the US anyways.

I agree that both the Sony and the Samsung 71 are top of the class LCD's at this time but we are pending testimonials on the new SED94 Sharps soon to see if they've caught up and it is now a ten bit panel also.

Good Luck!

I would avoid sharp, especially the 62/64u series because of banding.

do u know if the 61 series is a 10 bit and 24fps lcd......
Thank Taurus , Westa and BoNg ,

I will keep your given information for shopping .

Yesterday at the store I watched the film Spiderman-3 on Sony XBR4 with frame rate 60Hz and 120Hz.

On 120Hz I noticed that the tone of skin is less smooth, but the scene with shaking objet are realistic.

I would like to know if the PQ of SD-DVD is the same on LCD TV or worse than the SD-TV... ?????
If you plan to connect a computer and/or gaming console to it, and will be sitting close to the TV and/or have good eyes, avoid the Sharp. See my thread with pictures here (no one has commented

I boxed the Sharp back up and returned it so fast, even tho I got a good deal on it.

I'm not a Sony fan, but I must admit their LCDs are great!

well i saw a 120hz TV in circuit city and i was not impressed with it. Movies shown in 120hz look so fake. Also it doesnt matter what the ms is you will still see some bluring but you wont notice it at all. I would go with the 46W3000. I have the 40" version and its a great HDTV. It has great picture quality. Try to avoid Sharps they tend to have issues with banding. Go with a SONY OR SAMSUNG. Good Luck
I'm also in the same boat as the OP. My local shop matches prices with the big box stores so I will be going through them. Both the 64U and w3000 panels come with a free BD player at this time. Right now the w3000 is about $300 more than the 64u, but I have read many good things about the w3000 and read some wishy washy things about the 64u. Although the 64u is cheaper, I think I'm going with the w3000 since its pretty consistent with owners.
the 46w3000 is a great set, but also consider the 52 inch version, its not priced badly either......................

tv's get too small too fast............
also you may consider the kdl46v2500. 46" 1080p, 2 hdmi(1.2), 7000:1 contrast (dynamic), the common 60hz refresh. good price at circuit city because it is an aging model but i expect this model to hold up for awhile....well i hope since i just bought this model. in addition, i recieved a promotional offer at circuitcity for $1999 which included a playstation 3 and a remote for the PS3 (this offer is good until 1/26/08). Basically i purchased the TV for a bit under $1600.

LOL you got that right. 58" looks small once you get used to it. I just got the 46w3000, could have gotten the 52 for $400 more (and I really wanted to). But at my viewing distance (using just for gaming and computer) 52" is too much. Heck at 46" I have turn my head to view the whole desktop

So here's a question. I've got a Samsung 46" 4665F that I'm actually having replaced by circuit city for a new one (I bought it just over a week ago). After doing some more reading I've started wondering about the Sony 46W3000. I know it's supposed to be close to the Samsung 4665, but I know I could get the Sony for about $300 more than I paid for the Samsung. Is it worth making that jump or am I just spending more money for nothing (i.e. brand name and same features)? I've got until 1/29 to make a decision since that's when the deal on the Sony ends.
