In last month's Home Entertainment, a British HT magazine, a one page review of the Z90E (the European version of the Z90) mentioned the lack of a high-quality scaler like the Faroudja DCDi. However, they also mentioned a new version, called Z90SE if I remember correctly. Supposedly, this Z90SE will improve on the basic Z90 by adding a DCDi scaler/deinterlacer.

I can't seem to find any info on this here at AVS or in Google, so I have serious doubts that it's actually true. Anybody out here has heard similar rumors? I am seriously considering the Z90, since it seems to be a step up on the X1 in some key areas. I saw the Z90E at a dealer today, it looked well calibrated and was connected to a TAG McLaren DVD source - it was a very good image I must say and I didn't notice any annoying scaling artifacts (the DVD was feeding a progressive image to the Z90). Yet I think the DCDi will especially benefit poorer quality sources like cable, so if there would be a DCDi Z90, I'm sold!
