The Shaw Brothers line of films are being released worldwide on DVD and the first titles are shipping now.

I believe the DVD's are region 3, NTSC. No word on specs, but rumor is they are anamorphic. The company that bought the rights to the films have spent millions on cleaning them up and transferring them. Apparently the negatives were all stored properly, which is rare in that part of the world.
THE BAD NEWS: Miramax is in talks with the studio about buying the entire run of titles. "English dubbed" versions is what they are interested in. This may be a disaster for fans of Hong Kong cinema. But what else can we expect from ****ing Miramax?
Looks like us region free DVD player owners are going to be importing more HK films.
