I will be picking up a Sherbourn 7/2100A tomorrow and wanted some advice on which setting to use for the “Trigger Mode†switch. My preamp does have a 12V trigger output labled “Trigger Out – DC 12V – 20 mA Maxâ€.

Which would be the preferred mode: “MUSIC†– with automatic sensing circuits to turn the amp on, or “12V†using the 12V trigger?

Thanks,

Mike

I have my on the 12V trigger from my pre/pro.

I really do not understand the automatic sensing thing you are talking about. So it turns on the amp whenever audio is detected? What about when theres a pause or you press "pause" does it shut off the amp?

Either mode will work fine. I use the 12V trigger off my AVM 30. I have also used the "Music" mode to turn it on automically. It will shut off after about 20 minutes (I think). No it won't shut down in the middle of playback, unless you have a 20 mins of silence in the source material. The advantage of using the 12V trigger is that it shuts down sonner than the auto shut off of Music mode.

~ Disclaimer: 20 mins could be 12, I forget the spec.

Thanks,

I'll try the 12V trigger first.
