Seems like this happens all the time. Is there a manual switch at Showtime or something that turns this on? Is is very annoying and Showtime needs to get their act together.

Jerimiah is on right now with all 4 borders on my 4x3 set. WTF.

Don't know if there is a manual switch or not, but they didn't have this problem on the West Coast feed.

I watched the East coast feed on Friday night and it was in 16x9 from the start. Last week it was 4:3 for the first 15 minutes or so. You would think that Showtime would have some type of autoswitch for this.

Off topic--anyone else suprised by the Stargate episode?

NO! I had already read in one of the Sci-Fi mags months ago that Daniel Jackson was leaving the show because he felt he hadn't had much of a role in more recent episodes and he was going onto other things.

Pretty soon Stargate will be transferred to Sci-Fi Channel with mediocre NTSC for its last year. TOO BAD!

Daniel Jackson will return. Here is an excerpt I read at one of his fans websites, speaking about season 6:

"He is said to be starring in the fourth episode, Abyss, and then has the option to appear in five further episodes in the final series of the show. It is also said that there will be a part for him in the feature film due to be filmed next year. It is not clear as to whether he has accepted the part as yet."

Of course, since it won't be in 16:9, DD5.1 or upconverted, I will likely wait for the DVD's to be released to watch from now on. I just can't stomach going back to crappy NTSC, even for a show as great as this.

Going back to the topic, one person said it was 4:3 on the east coast feed, and the other claimed it was 16:9 during the entire show. Which one was it? It's not like these are broadcast by some affiliate.....Showtime is Showtime....right?
