While moving the receiver to rearange speaker wires the sub out was disconnected and an HDMI as well. I heard a squeal coming from the left subs, I looked at the amp and both red clip lights were on. I quickly killed the power strip. I smelled a chemical smell. Capacitors leaked? I plugged everything back in and everything tests fine.

However now I notice when i turn my TV on I get a tiny bit of turn on pop that happens twice. Whenever I turn my TV on or off it has always made the receiver mute two times while it redetects. When I turn the TV on I now hear a tiny bit of grounding loop hum. Maybe it has always popped and maybe there has always been hum, it's just now I am all worried and focusing much closer. Maybe it is new.

I hate OCD and all night I have been worrying about that chemical smell.

Further inspection: receiver on only, no buzz. TV and receiver on, no buzz. BluRey on with TV and receiver, loud buzz. Turn TV off, quiet buzz.

Both towers always the same be it none, some, or more
