Should HLG and HDCP2.3 be a deal breaker?

I am looking at the Pioneer Elite VSX-LX504 and the Pioneer Elite SC-LX701. Both come in at similar price points now . The 701 does not support HLG and the new 2.3 but is this a big deal or is it something off in the future ?
The thing that draws me to the 701 or 801 is the D3 transformers that draw 310 and 320 watts compared to the 504 that draws 840. I like the idea of a cool running receiver.
I am replacing an older Pioneer Elite VSX-82TXS that still runs fine but no longer can run with the 4K crowd.

What devices do you have or plan to have that support HLG and HDCP 2.3? Does your TV support it?
I can't comment on the utility of HDCP 2.3 support.

However, the SC-LX701 has received a firmware update to support HLG passthrough. https://intl.pioneer-audiovisual.com/support/firmware/av_receiver/sc-lx701sc-lx801sc-lx901_2/downloads.php

(I don't own one, but HLG support updates seem very common for 4k/HDR AVRs.)

Only TV supports it (4K OLED) for2019. Everything else does not support either of them.

Thank you-that helps my choice.

Hi - sorry to revive this old thread. Just wondering what you ended up buying. If you bought a D3 model, curious to know what is your assessment of the AVR's heat. How cool is it?

Thanks.
