Yes this is the 46" set. Just checked bestbuy.com. Seems like a great price for the set, let us know what you decide to do!
(I dont own one and cant really comment on whether or not its a good buy, but reviews such as http://reviews.lcdtvbuyingguide.com/...un46d6000.html all seem to be pretty positive., although it sounds like some of them can have clouding issues when viewing in dark/cinema settings)
Sorry about that. 46" is what I meant. LOL.. I spent about 3 hours reading the UNxxD6000 thread. Boy there were sure a lot of complaining with clouding and flashlighting. I'm a bit hesitant after that now.
So I decided and bought the 46 D6000. I'd say it's pretty nice, I don't think I noticed any clouding or flashlight effects. There was that reflection effect when it came to the dark scenes with living room lights on. Other than that, looks pretty good. Ohh one thing, got motion sickness from playing Black Ops. I don't know, probably because I'm used to a 32" than a 46". Didn't notice any lag either for gaming.
The online price appears to have jumped to $1051 as of 8/5. Do they offer the $979 price in store? Was going to check it out on 8/6 as I thought their sales ran Sun-Sat. Will also look to see if LG has a comparable version at a similar price point. But was interested in that D6000.
BB online price can change from day to day, unlike in store sales which run from Sun-Sat. However sales rep gave me good price via phone order. But she couldn't arrange for in store pick up, so she said I will have to wait a week for free home delivery. Well, I am going to store tomorrow with paperwork to see if manager will let me go ahead and pick it up. Waiting a week when it is paid for is ridiculous. Anyway, hope this is a nice TV without issues. Mainly for local OTA HD and Bluray in bedroom. Is there a certain panel type to request like with some Samsung LCD models? Or all Ultra Clear models the same?
I don't know about BB but if you buy online from Sears the only reason you would not have the store pickup option would be if the store were out of stock on the set. I suspect this may be the case with your purchase.
They were not out of this TV in the store. But their online order refused to allow for a store pick up; was scheduled for home delivery only, but not until a week later. From the same store where I wanted to go ahead and pick it up. So I could not pick up the TV I had already paid for, and they could not cancel the online order. I had to call BB online myself and cancel the order so they could supposedly redo the sale and price match the online order. After I went to all this trouble, I go back in the store and they can no longer give me the $979 price because the online price had changed back to $1299 overnight. In spite of the receipt in hand verifying the purchase less than 24 hrs earlier for $979. But the store price was $1099 so they tried to offer me that option, but of course I said no. And the return credit back to my debit card will not post for 48 hours, so now they had my funds all tied up. So I left a very frustrated and unhappy customer. Drove 90 mins to Ga where both Fry's and Brandsmart offered me the 46D6400 for $1129. Better TV at a pretty good price. And Brandsmart also had the 46D6000 for $999 but agreed to $979. But went with Fry's deal on 6400 so happy now. Will not deal with BB again. Very bad experience.
