Should I do this for a science project or is it a ripoff?

should I make the projector they're explaining in this 20 dollar guide for a science project and later for a home theatre or is just a scam getting you to try and buy their stuff? because they claim it costs 100-500 dollars for supplys and that sounds really good. Almost too good to be true.
