Should I get the deal on the Infinity speakers?

I currently have a Polk CS1 center which I'm sure would be blown away by the Infinity center that's on sale on here, but I'm wondering about the towers. I currently have a set of Jamo E680 towers which there isn't much information about online. I'm wondering if the Infinity Reference 253s would be significant upgrade, and if I would notice a lack of bass going from the dual 8" woofers to 5.25" woofers. I have a Monoprice Monolith 12" sub also.

Thanks.

If you have a sub you will not miss any bass especially when crossed at 80hz.

I think the biggest upgrade will be for your center. That should give you the greatest improvement coming from your CS1 center.

I would upgrade your center to the RC263 for sure. As for the towers, those Jamo towers you have now look to be pretty solid. I might hold off on what could be a possible downgrade and see how the Infinity center pairs with the Jamo towers. You do get free returns with the Infinity towers if you don't mind possibly having to send them back. The R253 towers don't have much bass capability for a tower speaker, but you do have the low end covered with the beast in a box, Monolith THX Ultra 12.

You may find the Infinity towers to have more detail and definition in the midrange and treble (better drivers) ... and the Jamo to be somewhat dark and laid-back and somewhat resonant sounding due to not having heavy cabinets for their size, as the Jamo's are more on the entry level side

The Infinity towers with those 5-1/4 inch woofers weigh 8.78 lbs more per each cabinet

Thanks for all of the info, I really appreciate it. Went ahead and picked up the center and towers, and the 162 bookshelfs were on sale as well so grabbed a pair to replace the polks I have in the rear. Excited to try these out.

I’m curious to what you folks think of this reposted as I suppose this thread is more active?

I might just order all four now anyway... $1100 shipped for two towers, beefy center, and a pair of sleek surround speakers....
My question is though is this cheap for a reason, I assume AVS wouldn’t soil it’s name just for sales!
But seriously how’s the dialog on these for HT use?
I’m currently 10 days in on trying out a Martin Logan kit of Motion 4i fronts and Motion 8i center. Got to say for small speakers they are pretty good. But I wanted something more substantial. Was gonna order a kit from Polk RTi A7 and 6 center. But this infinity has me thinking. About the same price.

The dialog is excellent. I have a number of centers including a Motion 30. I much prefer the RC263.
