I suggest audition the Pioneer 1014, they are selling cheap now and I will bet that it will sound much better than your current Pioneer. Take it home, try it out with your current speaker and see if it improves the sound. If it does and you are contented with it, then you can wait while saving for a good speaker. Then when you have the cash, take a look at Polk LSi7 (U$400/pair and even less when used) which are already going very cheap but highly regarded by reviewers and owners.
