Is it worth it for me to upgrade from what i have to what i bought?

What will the advantages be?

I just upgraded from 6mbps to 20mbps in speed.. speeds arent stable alot of the time and multiple streaming can take its toll. I know i will gain dual band and more ethernet ports.

My current modem: ARRIS / Motorola SurfBoard SB6141 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem

Current Router:
D-Link dir-655 ,

What i wanna upgrade to:
TP-LINK TL-WDR4300 Wireless N750 Dual Band Router

TP-LINK TL-SF1008P 10/100Mbps 8-Port PoE Switch, 4 POE ports, IEEE 802.3af, 53W

Devices/Uses: Laptop - wireless hd stream, internet. Tablet - wireless hd stream / internet, Roku - wired hd stream. Dish Hopper - wired hd stream. Onkyo Receivers - both wireless for misc purposes but want to make them wired. 2 galaxy s4 phones - wireless everything. PS4 - wired hd streaming, gaming, etc...

A more powerful dual band router will give you better wireless penetration and a stronger signal, so yes, it would benefit you, the DIR-655 is long in the tooth now. I am a huge fan of the Asus RT-N66U router, its very powerful and full features, it is expensive however.
ahhh ok. sweet!

i saw the asus.. if i was going to buy a new router that was actually a choice. i happened on that gigabit port and the tp link router for free, so guess im staying with those lol... or my wife will hurt me.

any other perks for upgrading?
