Should LT150 fan be running in high speed all the time?

I've had my LT150 for a short while now. On the last few movies, I noticed that after a while, the fan switches to high speed and stays there. Before, it would stay in the low speed mode. I am using it in tabletop mode, NOT ceiling mounted. Anyone else experiencing this? Being that the projector is right behind my head, this is very annoying.

Only if it's having trouble keeping cool. I use mine in desktop mode and the fan has never switched into high speed.

Table top mode does not shift into high gear unless it's getting hot (like an unvented hushbox). You'd better check the vents to make sure there is nothing blocking them or else call tech. support to ask. I think high gear on table top mode is not normal for routine (
I haven't had the problem of the LT150 fan running at high speed constantly, but I have noticed that if I turn it on for a short while to position it for later viewing, that it will switch to high speed mode when I turn it on up to an hour later.

I suspect that it detects not only the current temperature, but also the rate of temperature increase when deciding whether to run at high speed or not.

Of course, the maintenance instructions tell you to dry vacuum the filters for every 100 hours of use. If you haven't done so, or your room is especially dusty (forgive me for suggesting this), that might not be often enough to preserve the cooling efficiency at low fan speed.

Maintenance instructions? Filters? I dont' remember seeing either in the instructions. What pages? I don't think this think has a filter. I have about 93 hours on it now. I watched an entire movie plus alot of other testing as well, total of 3 hours on time and it stayed in normal speed all the time. Oh well.
My mistake - it appears the LT150 does not in fact have filters like the other NEC projectors. Was there anything blocking the fan hole?
