Don't have it yet, but can we make a comparison? My 2.1 build is dated 6/28. Can someone with a ReplayTV still at 2.1 post their build date? I'll bet Panasonic (or someone working for them) has to recompile/rebuild/test/whatever the software first. If they waited for the gold 3.0 to come out, there could be a delay between when ReplayTV branded units get it and Showstoppers get it.

This, along with the Macrovision issue, is strongly moving me to replace my 30-hr Showstopper with a 60-hr ReplayTV unit. I'd probably then sell the Showstopper. (Anybody interested? http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/smile.gif )
I'll not complain about any SS delay, as that's just life. However, IF and I'll repeat **IF** the SS isn't getting the v3 at the same time the RP is, then some ReplayPerson should mention it here on AVS. If the SS start update period is delayed, why have lot's of SS owners doing 243-Zones needlessly and further clogging things up.
I think the people bailing on showstoppers just because Panasonic needs to give it's approval (as an OEM that makes perfect sense) is premature at best.
Is there any precident for them taking an 'unreasonable time'? No. Is there any sign that Panasonic is going to wait a month or two? No.
We have both a RTV3020 and a Showstopper 30 hr. Right now NEITHER has 3.0 and as for the "Macrovision" bug, even after months of use -- I haven't seen it. We're very happy with both units.
(It is entirely possible that some cable systems are playing with macrovision or some cable systems' signals are so far out of whack that they are detected.)

I can't believe that you folks are already complaining about something that hasn't even happened yet. When all the replay units are updated and the SS are not. Then complain. I can't believe that Replay is eventually going to come out with a 90 hr 2 tuner unit and they are not going to give it to all existing users for free. Al

No Macro-whatever problems... no problems at all.
It's become the centerpiece of our family room. It's changed the way we watch TV, AND WHEN 3.0 ARRIVES... it will make it even easier to use than it is now.

Just curious-- if you drop a replay cloned drive into a showstopper, how does it then handle macrovsion?
Got 3.0 morning of 11/1. No forced net connect or anything. No hack.
Got manual timers set already to record from big dish 4DTV!
(And I only semi-bitched once on the boards (unusual for me), probably not even a groan compared to some of the posts)

Got 3.0 11/1 also. No problem. I'm located in NYC
As of 1PM EST in Rochester, no 3.0 on my SS via Net Connect
I suggest that no believes that this is real until someone sends an image or URL of same for a Screen Capture of a upgraded box. I had intended to do that.
Reacting to any otherwise non-confirmed report, will just lead to increased impatience and chaos on this forum!!!
