Just watched the first film on the ae100. Just showing it on a wall right now. 2 problems that are a little irritating(my search was quick and I am lazy so I didn't see it....not to mention my being at work)

1. When an object goes to the side of the screen it gets bigger...anything I can do about it?

2. Quality not quite as good as I was hoping(considering the quality of pj). I have it just going through a progressive DVD player using the 3 color cables with nothing else. Would this ISCAN make that much of a difference?

The stretched sides comes from the projector's JUST mode. This is a function of the internal scaler of the unit.

Here are a couple of things to try when using the component input...

1. Make sure that your DVD player is set to output 16 x 9.

2. Set the AE100 to 16x9 by using the Aspect button.

3. Put in a DVD that you know is Anamorphic, like Gladiator or Star Wars Episode 1.

You should see a perfect image that is not stretched at all. The AE100 does do a little scaling with the component input that some object to.

As posted in many threads, the best way to send a signal to the AE100 is using RGB. Search for threads on this topic (i.e. AE100, HTPC and iScan).

See these great posts from Li On as well...
