My uncle is brain damaged and legally blind, just enough site to function. I got him a denon 1913 to go with his fischer speakers. He is apparently having a display issue or signal issue, but given his condition I can never know what is a real problem and what is due to his disability. The only thing I have witnessed myself: he will have Netflix on (sony Blu-ray player), not playing and the screen will flash blue and the TV says no signal.

Which component could this be? I have my suspicions but don't even know where to start. Any thoughts?

Which model Sony Blu-ray player? The 1913 is a receiver.

I honestly don't know, one we got at wal-mart

My parents have the same one, or perhaps very similar and they have issues with theirs. Couldn't tell you what their issue is though, probably not the same thing

Ok, Problem solved. I went over to his house after he called and caught it in the act. It's either a bad hdmi cable or more likely a loose port in the blu-ray.
