I just got the HD modulator for my 5000 Dish receiver and set it up using a combiner for the satellite and OTA signal from the modulator to the Panasonic STB (it didn't work at all using the ant in on the modulator). It works pretty good but I have lost PBS OTA.

I used a radio shack combiner (2.5 ghz) per the very good advice from Mike Chu on this board. Does anybody know if there may be a better combiner that will not lose signal strength?

I am also looking for a good signal combiner with minimum loss and good signal separation for CH3/CH4. At the mean time try a cheap RF amp before the combiner for you OTA feed. It allowed mine to get by, although barely.

To use the Ant port on the HD modulator, you need to setup a local OTA channel in your 5000 guide, a dummy OTA channel will do, then when you switch to that channel, the HD mod will switch to OTA pass-through mode. You can then tune your Panasonic STB to the local stations.
