I just got my Toshiba 65H83 today and when I watched my first DVD I was surprised to see the black bars. I thought setting the RPT into Theatre View would remove the black bars. The bars will causing a burn in. How do I watch a dvd w/o causing burn in. I read and re-read the manual and they say the gray bars will cause burn it but they also say watching dvd's with Widescreen will cause burn in. No matter what aspect view I choose, I get the infamous widescreen lines.

I am OBVIOUSLY missing the boat, ship, barge, loveboat on this one.

Please help me to understand.

Thanks!

There's really nothing to worry about on burn-in. I've watched four 2.35:1 movies in a row on my uncle's 55" 4x3 HDTV RPTV. After that, I saw no sign of burn in. So, you'll be fine. Remember. OAR is worth MORE than your TV. Just keep your TV properly tuned and you'll be fine.
