Totally different technlogies. LCDs merely reflect light, they don't produce it. Plasmas (like CRTs) have phosphors that readate light - much higher quality than LCDs.

LCDs use liquid crystals to make a picture (depending on the current, the crystals will either let light pass through or not)


Plasma charges a gas, and the gas then activates a phosphorus coating, then the phosphor creates the light (kind of like CRT)

thanks guys, so does that mean if i buy a plasma now, in a few yrs ill have to re-gas it:)
