I once read somewhere that the most important thing in a cable was not the cable itself, but the cable/connector interfase. The more alike the two components (cable and connector), the better.
I recently took notice that cable manufacturers Silversmith Audio ( www.silversmithaudio.com ) and Silveraudio ( www.silveraudio.com ), claim they have precluded the use of solder and crimping in their designs. Silversmith Audio says that they do so by forming the spade connector from the very conductor of their ribbon cable. On the other hand, Silver Audio claims they use High Pressure Fusion (HPF) to circumvent the solder and crimping.
What do you think of these claims? Any experience out there with these cables?
Thanks for sharing!
