I have the Sim 300 plus that has DVI But Is not HDCP Capable.

Sim 2 have offered to Do a HDMI HDCP Capable input for £1500.

I know this is needed for future use and will not upgrade until a 1080p projecter in the 300 plus price range comes along.

Would this be a worthwile upgrade or a waste or a waste at this stage?

Any ideas?

Unless you have a source that requires HDCP why upgrade? There are options for DVD (HTPC, Bravo, etc) that allow upscale to 720P over DVI without HDCP.


I am in the same boat and fortunately I have no sources that need HDCP.


Hopefully by the time I need it I will be ready for a projector upgrade


Besides this could make it easier to claim I need a new projector to the wife!
