Although these are in various different price points I just wanted to post some screen shots of all these PJ's for you to see.
There is no question the Lumis is the PJ to beat but take a look at the Optoma it comes really close in picture quality. The Lumis has 2500 lumens, 35,000:1 CR with dynamic black with an iris that adjusts frame by frame digitally, Manual Vertical lens & no horizontal, $36,500, 109" screen no gain. The screenshots on the Lumis were all paused.
The Sharp Z15000 is also amazing for a $2500 PJ and imo is much better than the Epson 7500UB which I did see at the show. It was shown on a 108" Stewart Firehawk. It has 1600 Lumens and 30,000:1 in high contrast mode, 1.15 manual zoom & focus, 250W Lamp, 24db, 6 segment 6-speed color wheel. The screen shots on the Sharp were not paused, I tried hard to take them as best I can.
The Vivitek had actually the best picture at the show yes I think even better than the Lumis but it was on a small screen 60-70" not sure the exact size. 800 Lumens / 100,000:1 contrast, manual zoom & focus, Led life 20,000 hours, 28db, 44lbs, MSRP: $20,000, It will street for about $16k. The screenshots on the Vivitek were all paused.
The Optoma HD8200 was also amazing coming real close to the Lumis imo and all that for a measly $4999. It was shown on a 140" width screen much bigger than the Lumis & take a look at the screen shots, I'd say pretty close. The screen shots on the Optoma were not paused, I tried hard to take them as best I can.
