I just purchased on Energy ESW-8 sub. It has left & right inputs on the back....connecting to an Onkyo 502 that has a single sub out connect.

Do I need to split the signal with a y-adapter at the sub? The manual does not give a clear definitive answer and Energy has yet to respond to my email.

I am using a monoprice coax/rca sheilded sub cable.

It works just connecting it to the left input, but am I loosing quality & sound by not splitting the signal?

I have a JBL sub, with the same kind of left-right input connected to my HK AVR146, which only has a single ouput RCA jack for the sub.

In my sub's documentation, it clearly says to use a Y splitter in this case.

Hope it helps!
