I need a stereo Phono preamp. The input should be equalized to standard RIAA and accept low level cartridge output. The output should be standard line level with a balanced output preferred. If you have a device or know where I can find one, let me know. I have looked at most music stores and they have nothing unless they are built into a DJ mixer.

The nicest little cheap ($150-$200) way I know to add phono capability to a line-stage preamp is the little Creek OBH-8. I have one myself on one system, and it's clean, has very little noise, and is very well-made. You can get 'em from http://www.audioadvisor.com.

I have no connection with that firm, except as a satisfied customer. And after years of being a CD-only guy, I have to confess, I've gotten wholeheartedly back into vinyl and now have three or four turntables up and running. There's something to be said about the old vinyl experience, strangely enough.

Thanks for all the responses. Went with the OBH-8 however I looked at the other units suggested and they were impressie but a little much for a single turntable installation used to transfer old LPs to DAT and then to CD. Now if I could find an INEXPENSIVE digital filter to remove surface noise!!! Thanks to both of you for responding.
