I'm far from an expert in audio so this might be a (too) simple question for experts. Here it is:

in our house we have built-in speakers in several rooms. First idea was to buy sonos amps for multi-room capabilities. Afterwards we decided it's too expensive, definitely since we are not going to use multi-room ... we use Spotify a lot so if we can stream spotify from our smartphone in each of the rooms it's really sufficient. Our new idea is to buy a bluetooth receiver like the Audioengine B1 Bluetooth Music Receiver .... and connect the audio cables from the speakers directly to the receiver.

I was wondering: is this a correct setup? Don't you need an amplifier between the receiver and the speakers? (since it's just a receiver and not an amplifier)

PS. I have artsound speakers (dc201)

Thanks for your feedback!

Maybe something like the Maritek boom boom 460 is sufficient for me?? (sorry, can't include url as a newbie :):) ). It's both receiver and amp. And don't really need multiroom.
