Sorry for the newbie questions, I have the following:

- LCD TV with Ethernet connection and three HDMI inputs (LG 47LE5500)

- Media player (WD TV Live Plus)

- Router with four Ethernet connections (Netgear)

I just purchased these items. Haven't applied power to any of them.

What is the best setup?

Do I connect an Ethernet cable directly between the router and TV?

Do I also connect the media player to the router (using an Ethernet cable) and TV (using an HDMI cable)?

Thanks

Yes, you need to connect each Ethernet device to the router/switch. In the future there will be HDMI devices (v1.4) that also carry Ethernet, but I don't think your devices have that feature.

Also, you only need to hook the TV to Ethernet if you want to use any of the Internet-enabled features of the set... Since you have a media streamer, depending on what services you'll use, it may be redundant. But certainly doesn't hurt.
