I have an A-2 hooked up to a Yammy 661 A/V via optical for audio only and then hdmi via a switcher into my Panny plasma (only one hmdi input). This is convenient for my wife and kids so they can watch a movie w/out having to turn on the Yammy.

I realized that my setup does not allow me to get True HD through the optical. Is there a way to still hook up audio and video to the Plasma from the A-2 while also sending hdmi audioand video through the A/V so when I want to watch I can enjoy the True HD?

I have a 5.1 setup. Finally will I even notice a sound difference between the 2?

Thanks.

If your reciever has HDMI passthrough, then yes. though you would have to turn on your receiver to use the A2 (I think).

Get a proper remote and have your wife/kid turn everything on to watch movies....otherwise you can get an HDMI splitter from monoprice and try that. Seems pretty silly though when your receiver can handle this!
