Hello! Being mostly an audio guy, I'm new to the world of extenders, repeaters, etc. Heck, I'm even new to having a remote!

I have a BAT VK-42SE preamp in an equipment closet. I would like to be able to use the remote for it, which I'm assuming is IR. What is the best way to do this? Some more info:

1. I want to use the original BAT remote, not a universal

2. I would rather not attach anything to the front of the unit

3. Distance is only a few feet. I sit right by the wall that divides the room and closet.

4. I could drill a hole in the wall if need be for any receiver.

So, do I want an extender or a repeater? Wired or wireless? Should I just use a series of mirrors instead?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide for these newbie questions!
