my room size is 20*13*8 I currently have dual Bic pl200 and planning to move a step further with guidance from you all
Should i go with single SVS pb2000 or dual SVS pb2000
If you live in the USA go with Dual HSU VTF-3 MK5. You'll get near pb4000 performance for the price of the pb2000

Considering you are not in US and choices may be limited, I would get the single first and see how you like it. If you think it is not enough, then go for the dual PB's.

Dual Paradigm Defiance X12 will give you a lot better performance than dual SVS PB2000. Paradigm subwoofers are only available from retailers as far as I know, but retailers often offer a discount on the retail price.

Paradigm subwoofers are higher quality than SVS subwoofers.

The X12 retails for nearly double the SVS. The SVS has much more output below 30hz. Paradigm subs are not higher quality. Paradigm CS is not nearly as good nor is their warranty.

There is a lot more to sound than a tiny bit more supposed output below 30hz. The X12 is more musical and a better sounding sub. Also, SVS subwoofers are known to get loose and sloppy sounding as they age. They are not constructed of the highest quality materials, hence their lower price point.

Nice! you'll be plenty happy!

just note that the PB2000 have less mid-bass than the PL200 II but significantly more output bellow 30hz.

I'm currently trying to figure out what sub/s to go with, whats the benefit of being in the states? SVS covers return shipping within the first 45 days but HSU doesn't. I know it's stupid but I can't stand the asymmetric port on the PB-2000 and SVS grills aren't very appealing to me. Wish I could swing dual PB-3000's, would be awesome if they weren't $1400.

The shipping rate outside the US is abysmal for any other brand except SVS (which is free). Rythmik/Outlaw offer decent shipping rates to Canada but i don't know about other countries.

SVS makes a great product 100% but with their current price you can get a better product for less money

Like i said the VTF-3 MK5 nearly hits PB4000 performance for roughly PB2000 prices.

but if you have the room and budget the Monoprice Monolith 15 is the way to go (bug its a MASSIVE subswoofer)

if the Monolith 15 are too big/$ look at the Monolith 12 (please note the HSU VTF-3 MK5 is a better sub than the monlith 12 but it doesn't have symmetrical ports either 4"/3")

I have limited vertical space where I intend to place the subs, is there any concern with laying subs on their sides?

no not at all.

If your room isn't too big you could easily get away with Dual ULS-15 MK2 sealed subwoofers

There perform like the VTF-2 MK5 below 30hz, but above 30hz they are much stronger all in a smaller more manageable package

what are your room dimensions(including any adjacent rooms if it's an open design)?

About 13x18, right around 2k cu ft enclosed space.
