I tried hooking up a regular VHS VCR to the monitor out composite video jacks of my SIR-165 and tried to record a program that the 165 was receiving OTA. Something didn't go right and I ended up not having anything recorded.

My SIR-165 is typically hooked into the component hi-def output with as setting of 720p.

I read the manual and it's a little Spartan on whether multiple outputs can be used at the same time or whether one configuration will prevent you from using another. I don't think I'm doing something right. Does anyone have any thoughts?

Basically, I guess I'm asking the question: is the composite video 480i output active when the 165 is configured for EDTV or HDTV definitions.

Thanks
