Just got one of these today to hook up to my Yamaha rvx-863 receiver. Does the 8 pin connector carry digital audio, or do I have to run an optical cable from the unit? If so how do I go about getting that to work.

I think you want to either use your Starmate with the Yamaha receiver like any other audio device (RCA cables) or return the Starmate and get a Sirius Direct Connect receiver (it's just a box that sits behind your stereo somewhere).


Either way you'll need to get the antenna near a window facing towards Wyoming from your location OR get an external antenna and a Sirius Echo Repeater system (no longer made - look for it on eBay).

Yup thx I already figured that out......ordered the connecthome tuner Sunday, and returned the starmate yesterday. There is no point in me even having it unless I get digital sound.
