This past Tuesday, I drove from Seattle to the Sierra's in California. Had great Sirius reception until I got to between Sacramento/Stockton/Modesto. What was puzzling is that this area is fairly flat, no tall trees, wide open sky. I was facing south and the radio was losing signal constantly -- I had to eventually turn it off it was getting so annoying.

1. Is there some blind spot in this section of California? My wife mentioned she had the same exact thing happen in the open in Redding when she drove down a few days before.

2. Was Sirius having some kind of issue that we just feel victim to?

I'm not familiar with what Toyota is using now. If you experience the same problem again, try cycling the audio system off and on again to reset the receiver. With the first chipset there is a bug that only allows the receiver to perform one satellite hand-off.
