Retailers Can Prepare Sales Force Via Web


To bolster its independent retail network (any type of retailer can participate), Sirius Satellite Radio has developed an online solution for dealers nationwide to help train and educate their sales force: http://www.siriusuniversity.com.


"We're looking to expand our training, provide more people and more resources for retailers," said Sirius President and CEO Joe Clayton in an interview with SkyRETAILER. "Small independent retailers had a hand in selling those new technologies," such as satellite television.


With the company's ever-growing programming offerings and the expanding of its satellite radio product models and manufacturers, Sirius is helping form a link to those who are offering the service and those who are selling it on the retail floor. Retailers can visit Sirius University and register for the Web-based training to begin what the company hopes is an enlightening experience.


(And, on another note, the big chain retailers should consider having all Sirius salespeople complete this course. Nothing's worse than going to Best Buy, Circuit City or wherever and talking to somebody that only knows what cool video game to play and not which satellite radio service to buy. But, that's just my opinion.)
