What size television set would be best for a family room that is 13' x 14' and the typical viewing distance is between 8' and 12'?


What size tv set do you feel is too big for this area? Is a 50" plasma going to be too large?

50" plasma would be fine at that viewing distance.

50" is definitely not too large. In my living room with viewing distance of 10-11 feet, 50" felt small so I returned it and am getting a 58". If you go any smaller than 50", it might feel "too small" pretty quickly. (OTOH, some people prefer to sit in the back row of the movie theater!)

I watch 100" @11 ft. I think you will be fine with a 50".
