I recetly picked up a JBL E-150p sub. I really like it compared to what I used to have.

Quick question. The sub makes a slight noise when no real signal is being sent to it. What I mean is, I could have the receiver off but until the sub goes into stand by, it make a very faint almost like a whistling sound. This happens in any part of the room, in any outlet or surge protector w/ or w/ out the sub connected to the receiver, with either phase set to 0 or 180, or set to LFE or Line In, volume up or down.

Basically whenever the green light is on, I here the slight noise, not humming, but a very faint whistle sort of sound. When the red light is on and the Sub is in "standby" it's totally silent.

Is this normal? Is it like everything else that makes some sort of noise when it's on? Or is this a problem that I should be concerned about?

An y help is greatly appreciated.
