Slightly tapered slot port?

789 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Anthony_Gomez
I'm sure this can be modeled but I don't know how or it if is a ridiculous idea. Thought I'd ask and someone might be able to educate me :-D

I look at things like the marty cube which is ~ 5cu ft tunned to 20hz with a 2" wide slot port. Narrower tunes lower, but higher velocity. What happens if the throat started out at 1.5" and linearly tapered to 2"? Same thought with the full marty. I'm happy to model this myself if someone can show me where to get the freeware to do such :-D

HornResp will do tapered ports. You don't model it as a VB, you model it as a rear loaded horn.
