Slimserver compatible Pocket PC player?

712 Views 3 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  Toeside
While I'm waiting for prices to come down (specifically on the Roku Soundbridge, which could be a while), I'm trying to use my PocketPC to play my MP3 collection.

Does anyone know of a Slimserver compatible player for the PocketPC? Anything that is compible for the MP3 stream from http://.....:9000/stream.mp3 will suffice.

Thanks for the help!

Followup... yesterday I tried to google for the answer to my post and couldn't find anything. Today, I found this:

I'll try it tonight when I get home. Other options are still welcome!

Where are you wanting to output the audio? A Soundbridge/PDA combo will allow you to browse the audio on your host PC and play it through whatever audio the Soundbridge is connected to. GSPlayer will stream audio to your PDA only.
I want to stream to the PocketPC, and connect it to my AVR. It works, but it's still not an elegent solution, but it was free since I already had the ipaq.

My iPaq needs a new battery, not a big deal as they are available online for $30. But the internal speaker has a loose connection also, and only works sometimes. If I decide to buy a battery, I'll try to fix the speaker (which doesn't really bother me, as I don't intend to listen to that cruddy speaker anyhow).
