I'd really like someone to please help me understand what IR capabilities the Slink-e has and how to utilize them. Right now, I'm using the Slink-e only for CD jukebox control. I've recently moved into a new home which has been prewired for IR receivers in every room which need to control about 8 centrally located components (1 zone is all I need).

To accomplish the above, do I ALSO need a Xantech connecting block or can the Slink-e take IR input from 5 receivers and output to 8 emitters? If I do need both components, in what order do the connections go?

If both components are needed, what's the advantage of having the Slink-e in the loop?

Thanks. -- John

You really should check out the Nirvis List on yahoo...

This the the best slink-e resource that I know of. I'd offer advice, but I'm using a v2.0 slinke without the xantech connecting block, so I don't know much about using the Xantech stuff with the slinke.

I'm currently using the 7 port expansion bus for the v2.0 slinke, and some IR receivers from allelectronics.com....

cheers, and good luck,

Rich
