Small fan to provide airflow to PJ

735 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  bud16415
Where my PJ is there is very little airflow naturally so I am looking to purchase a small quiet fan to help ventilate the projector.

I'm not really concerned about the projector's life span or bulb but when it gets hot the internet fan gets louder. I'm trying to keep it quiet.

I'm not skilled at all wiring so the idea of taking a 120mm computer fan and jimmy rigging it isn't going to work.

I'm using a Optoma HD72 in case that is important.

Ideas? Fan reccomendations? The fan would also have to be lightweight.

Thanks!

What's so tough about splicing red wire to + wire and black wire to - wire on a wall wart AC->DC adapter from Walmart?

An AC fan that's quiet will cost you a LOT more than a quiet 120 mm PC 12v DC fan + wall wart.

Here is a thread I started and the fan I'm running. You may want to size things back a bit depending on what your application is but works great.
