I am looking for something much smaller than a standard receiver to put in a bedroom. 5.1 would be nice but I will probably just do 3.1.

Any recommendations? Thinking more like small blu ray player size than standard receiver. Doesn't have to be super high end.

@whiteboy714 unfortunately 3.1 is not common for avr's so you have 5, 7, 9, 11, 13 and now 16/32 channels to choose from.

Yeah I suppose that's probably the best there is? I was hoping for something even smaller.

Oops quoted the wrong guy. Was looking at the slim receiver. Yeah $2500 is about $2300 more than I'd like to spend lol.

For $200 a used Marantz slimline is probably the best that you can do.

If you are staying with 3.1 then soundbars with built in processing and amplification are an option.

definitely fancy. seems to get good reviews, but pricey. an alternative soundbar, with the ability to get you to 5.1 for less is Sonos... pretty solid, sound. great support.
