I am looking for small towers to replace my N804s.

I am currently looking at the Quad 21L, B&W CM4, Totem Arro and Silver line S5.

They have to have a small footprint and look good as well.

Any others I should be aware of?

The height must not exceed about ~ 33-35 inches.

thanks.

Do you have a budget?

The Forest is a much better speaker in the Totem line. Meets your height requirement, but more $$$ than the Arro...

Actually, I am looking for

I just found this : http://www.piega.ch/ls/p4_d.htm

How much are they? The P 4L MKII? Is Piega good? It looks more like $4K speakers.

My requirements are changing a little. They can be taller, but I prefer slim & narrow.

I have to look into the deftech but I read here not so good reviews.

I heard some of the Piega line at Home Entertainment 2004 in NYC. They were very good, but seeing as they use ribbon tweeters, they sound a bit different than most conventional speakers. You may like them, you may not. I liked them.

I am not familiar with the Silver line S5, but consider the Kirksaeter Prisma 110, ($1099/pr list). 33.6" tall. I've heard some of the Kirksaeter bookshelf models and was very impressed. IMO they look great.

MAB - I think you will get more helpful replies if you clarify what you are looking for. Why are you getting rid of the N804's? What did you like or not like about the sound?

Or was the 40" height of the N804's your only issue? You go on to say in your second post that height is not an issue as much as "slim and narrow" requirement. Maybe stand-mount or wall mount would be better for your application. Please provide more detail.

Good luck.

Thanks for all the feedback.

I already have the gallo nucleus and I want something different than the Reference III. I looked into the av123, but I want something not made in China. I like European design and prestige.

I have already sold my N804s as well as my Krell TAS amp. I loved every second of it but I must downsize my equipment.

So, I started to look for smaller speakers than the 804s but with the same British taste and found the Monitor Audio Silver S5, the Quad 21L and the totem arro (Canada).

Now I discovered the Piega...I must say they look almost perfect. My requirements are low level music listening so I do not need much lower bass extension. The Krell integrated 400 series will most likely be the pre/amp of choice.

Thanks for the inputs:)
