I have an optoma w318ST projector. When I initially switch it on, the test image is about 9 feet wide, but when i connect it to a laptop, the laptop image is only about 7 feet wide, why is there such a wastage, what can be done?
What resolution are you pushing out of your laptop? You should set your laptop up for 'EXTENDED DISPLAY' in your computer. This will ensure that the laptop is putting out the full 1280x800 resolution which the projector natively uses.
You will also want to check the aspect ratio settings of the projector to ensure it is set to 'full' or '16:10' or 'native' or something like that.
