Greetings,

I am about to change the lamp on my Hitachi 5500. So I will be doing a new SMART III calibration and finally will be using that Red CC filter I have.

I have a Lumagen Vision between my PJ and my Receiver/DVD Player. The Lumagen can display the IRE windows needed to perform the PJ calibration.

Would it be better if used the test pattern from the Vision to calibrate the PJ followed by some adjustment to adapt to the idiosyncrasies of the player... Or is it better to use the full chain and use the Avia patterns from the start?

Also.. When using a CC filter, I have to use the "Gain" control in the service menu to get the grayscale tracking corrected.. Right?

TIA

François
