smoke damage?

Anyone have experience with smoke damage in their RPTV? I've had my 507 about a month and decided to have a massive smoke incident last week...no fire damage thank God but a greasy smoke had settled on the horizontal surfaces in my apartment.


The picture looks okay, although my first concern was that the smoke coated the mirrors, etc. inside.

I did notice vertical lines running through the picturewhile watching Cast Away...but I can't tell if it was the transfer or the set might have some grime.


So my question is two part:

1) What are the odds that the smoke damaged the inside of the set?


2) I notice that Avia disk doesn't have a "how to see if your TV has suffered smoke damage" test. Anyone know how I could test the set to see if there is damage?
