SNR of the lg lst-4200a?

416 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  verik1
I just brought home an lst4200a yesterday and plugged everything in just like i had with my samsung 2 year old ota receiver and bam unbearable noise. No matter what i did i couldn't get it to go away. Has anyone else had this problem?

I can only hope that i have a defective receiver. I've got a hk dpr1001 receiver feeding an ati 1505 amplifier and i don't usually have a hum problem. The inputs seem hot coming in just by switching between the lg and other components in my system.

Sounds like some how you now have noise being introduced most likely through the AC circuit. Hum typically is carried through the ground, which is the third wire.

I imagine a defect in a LST-4200A could possible cause AC hum to be bled into the audio or video outputs.

Let us know what the outcome.

okay can i send the digital audio bitstream from the lg like you would a dvd player? I have the lg hooked up analog to my receiver and it's perfect.
The 4200A has both coax and optical digital audio out. I don't know why you would hook it up via analog audio to a surround recevier. Not going to get Dolby Digital that way. Or are you saying that the noise only exists when using the digital audio path, and that with a straight L+R analog audio hookup, things are fine? Have you tried both the coax and optical digital connections?
