NEW YORK, September 29, 2003 – iN DEMAND, the nation’s leading provider of VOD and PPV and So! Animation have announced an agreement to release a number of original animations on iN DEMAND’s new 24-hour linear HD network, INHD. The offering consists of 4 brand new pilots followed by 5 episodes which debut in September, with the launch of INHD.


The agreement includes a full year of exclusive HD rights to INHD. The animated shorts will be provided in 1080i, and will run between 1 and 6 minutes.


The shows include “Farminalsâ€, a series of stories about farm animals whose daily lives are filled with ridiculous challenges; “Haggis and Pithyâ€, featuring an overly sophisticated 8 year old (Haggis) who spends her days encountering bizarre comic circumstances with her dog (Pithy); and “Pavement†which tells the story of 20-something singles living in New York.


“The new So! animations are perfect content for our interstitial programming,†said Leigh Bolton, SVP, Video Promotions of iN DEMAND. “Their visual clarity, textures and rich colors take full advantage of the enhanced viewing experience of high-def†she said.


“The fantastic thing about producing these animations in High Definition is that, unlike Standard Definition, it demands a film-making approach.†Said Rob Cazin, President of So! Animation. “With all of the old NTSC limitations that are now gone, and the increase in quality of Dolby Digital sound, it's much more possible now to create compelling animation. So! Animation has been designing and creating innovative animation for broadcast networks since it was founded by So! President Rob Cazin in 1992. Initially created as a full-service production boutique, So! Animation’s extensive body of work includes commercial and graphic design for ESPN, USA, NBC, A&E, iN DEMAND, Biography, Trio and the History Channel. So! has been involved in branding networks such as The Biography Channel, USA Networks, The History Channel, Trio, and MSG Network. So!’s recent growth is credited towards their collective passion for strong character design and story telling, something which they began to develop with self-funding almost five years ago.


The INHD suite will feature several hundred hours of movies, professional sports and general interest entertainment programming that maximizes the High-Definition experience. At launch, there will be approximately 12 hours of unique programming daily that will be repeated throughout the day and later in the week.

I saw the Farminals short where they get the ice cream yesterday a couple times. I loved it. They were hilarious. :D
